HTC Vive Pre-orders Are Now Live, Here’s The Details

Start saving those pennies if you’re after an HTC Vive VR headset my friends, because the UK price is a princely £689. Well, maybe not princely. An Earlish £689? Yeah, let’s go for that.

Last week HTC revealed the Vive would cost $799 (£575) in the US, but said nothing regarding international prices. To compare, the Oculus Rift costs a measly £499, although that is just the for the headset.

If you were to fork out £689 for the Vive on the other hand, you’d get the headset, two wireless controllers, plus two movement tracking and room scale sensors for your troubles. You’ll also get Fantastic Contraption, Job Simulator and  Tilt Brush to play on it. Not bad.

Pre-orders for the Vive begin today (February 29) and are limited to one per customer – so none of this scalping bullshit.

I should also point out that the HTC Vive needs a high-end computer if you want to run it and enter those sweet virtual worlds. At the moment, Oculus Rift offer their own PC bundles. Vive have yet to do anything similar – just choose carefully between the two before parting with such fat stacks of dolla bills.
