iPhone 7 Will Reportedly Allow “Console-Level Gaming” With New Chip

Sony aren’t the only ones showing off new toys, as Apple recently unveiled the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at a fancy press event.

Despite the controversial lack of headphone jack, the company’s newest generation of smartphones will come with the A10 Fusion chip, which is apparently the ‘most powerful chip ever in a smartphone.’

Twinfinite reports that these chips make the iPhone 7 an insane 120x faster than the original iPhone, and provides a graphics chip nearly twice as fast as the previous A9.

According to Apple, this will allow ‘console-level gaming’ on the iPhone 7, opening the door to games never thought possible on a mobile.

The iPhone 7’s power was demonstrated with a game called Oz: Broken Kingdom, showing off fancy reflections, weather effects and more – check it out below.

Looks pretty good for a mobile game, right? Oz: Broken Kingdom also has the distinction of being able to render over 400 flying monkeys at a ‘flawless, flawless frame rate.’

I don’t know about you, but to me, how many flying monkeys a game can render is pretty much the only thing I ever care about in a title.

In other iPhone gaming news, Apple teamed with Nintendo to announce Super Mario Run, a mobile Mario game coming to the iPhone later this year.
