Is This The Perfect Witcher Movie Cast?

By :

As awesome as it would undoubtedly be, there are currently no plans for a Witcher movie. I know, it hurts me too.

Still, that hasn’t stopped fans everywhere from dreaming up their own fan casting for the fantasy world of Geralt and friends, with a recent post from Imgur user  containing some of the best suggestions I’ve seen – let’s take a look, shall we?

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Geralt of Rivia

Any Witcher movie would swiftly crumble into failure if they didn’t have the right leading man in the part, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a fine contender.

Best known for his turn as Jaime Lanister in some small cult show called Game of Thrones, Coster-Waldau has the intimidating look and gruff air of the White Wolf and – let’s face it – he’s a good looking dude, as is our Geralt.

Kate Beckinsale as Yennefer of Vengerberg

As the bad-ass female lead of the Underworld movies, Beckinsale is exactly the kind of actor that could take on the role of Yennefer, another (arguably much more interesting) bad-ass female lead.

Liam Neeson as Vesimir

Now, this one is a genuinely fantastic shout. Vesimir is a world-weary, wise, and fully badass mentor/poppa Witcher – he’s basically the Qui-Gon Jinn of Witcher, meaning Liam Neeson is perfect.

AnnaSophia Robb as Ciri

I think this is probably the only one I’m not too sure about myself. While I’m certain the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Race to Witch Mountain actress would do a great job, I personally reckon Rogue One’s Felicity Jones has the right combination of youth and toughness.

Christina Hendricks as Triss Merigold

Having appeared in the likes of Mad Men and Crash (and Rick & Morty, which is awesome), I could definitely see Hendricks as the fiery Triss Merigold.

Michael Fassbender as King Radovid

Frankly, Fassbender could play a five year old girl and still somehow absolutely nail the part, so I’ve no doubt he’d bring the perfect level of gravitas to a turn as the mad King Radovid.

Emily Blunt as Keira Metz

British? Check. Not to be fucked with? Check. Fantastic actor? Triple check. To put it bluntly (aha), Emily would make an amazing Keira Metz.

Vincent D’Onofrio as Dijkstra

Daredevil’s very own Kingpin of crime would put in a fine turn as the imposing and shady Bath House owner/criminal mastermind.

Mark Addy as The Bloody Baron

The Bloody Baron is a weighty, complex role. A horrific human being by all accounts (he beat his pregnant wife, remember), we still feel some degree of sympathy for the Baron by the end.

Enter Addy (King Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones), a fine actor who I imagine would definitely be up to the task of taking on such a complicated character.
