People really want to play Battalion 1944. After reaching their goal of £100,000 on Kickstarter after just two days, developer Bulkhead Studios continue to smash all expectations. There’s over two weeks of funding to go, and they’re already at over £220,000.

The Kickstarter page proudly displays 7401 backers, and £226,042 raised so far, though this number will doubtless have risen before you can blink.

With the game’s future well and truly nailed down, you may well be wondering about stretch goals. Bulkhead have teased that there will of course be stretch goals and they will be “awesome”, we just have no idea what they are yet – but this may well change soon.

Bulkhead have said in a Kickstarter update:

Stretch goals are just around the corner. We’ve had them planned for a while, and we’re sticking to our original plan. We don’t do empty promises at Bulkhead; which is why we are working on in-game assets to show you all exactly what we’re working towards before we announce all of Battalion 1944’s stretch goals.

Sounds like we should be finding out something more very soon then. In the meantime, you can check out our interview with Bulkhead, where they discuss Battalion 1944 in more detail.

Battalion 1944 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC and aims to launch May 2017. Bulkhead hope to reinvigorate the classic WW2 shooter, and all signs so far seem to suggest they’re gonna succeed.
