Having been rumoured for some weeks, Konami – developers of the PES series – have announced that a free-to-play version of PES 2016 will be heading to Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.

The news comes just a few days after an Australian Classification Board leaked the apparent news, and it looks like it forced Konami’s hand into the official announcement. The game will be releasing on December 8.

The game will serve as an “entry-level version” of the game, and will only give people access to seven teams: Bayern Munich, Juventus, AS Roma, Brazil, and France, while two more teams are yet to be named.

The game will also come with a training mode and access to the My Clubs feature, while online and offline play are both supported.

Konami have said that the free-to-play PES 2016 will receive “all future gameplay and content updates throughout the entire PES 2016 season.”

While it’s announced the game will be coming out on Playstation 4 and Playstation 3, there’s no news about Microsoft’s consoles.
