More Evidence That Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is Coming

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was announced back in 2008, so you’d be forgiven for assuming that in sunny 2016, the game has been forgotten about.

However, it turns out that publisher Ubisoft has filed a new trademark application for Beyond Good & Evil, which possibly signals that something new is coming for the franchise.

DualShockers uncovered an April 1 listing (unfortunate timing) in the European Union Intellectual Property Office database.

So, either Ubisoft are just fucking with us with a really subtle April Fools’ joke (trademark banter – good one guys), or they’re just protecting their brand.

Or maybe (just maybe), they really are gearing up for some kind of reveal – there have been rumblings of an E3 announcement for a while now. Other rumours have even suggested that Nintendo will be announcing Beyond Good & Evil 2 as an exclusive title for their new NX console.

The original Beyond Good & Evil came out for PC, Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2 back in 2003. It wasn’t exactly a mainstream smash, but the game was critically acclaimed and swiftly built up a cult following (rightly so, it was great).

Various people from Ubisoft and the team behind Beyond 2 have reassured us over the years that the game definitely is coming – it’s just that nobody seems to know exactly when.

Aside from a few scraps on concept art and some vague promising, we have nothing to go on but faith and rumours. Stop toying with us, guys.
