Naughty Dog have been dropping all kinds of hints that they plan to release more games for the Playstation 4 after Uncharted 4.
With the final chapter in Nathan Drake’s saga coming March 18, 2016, The Last of Us developers have said they plan to release “at least one” more title on the console.
In an interview with Finder, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer was asked if we can expect more from the devs on current-gen:
I would hope so. I would hope we would release a game pretty soon. Our development cycles aren’t too long, and I have no idea how long this console generation really is going to last, but, yeah, there’s no doubt it should be in this console generation for sure.
I mean, I have no doubt – I don’t know what the timelines are – but [Naughty Dog has] at least one, maybe two games left in the console generation, maybe more. Clearly we can release a game really late in a console generation and do well, right?
It’s been rumoured for some time that Naughty Dog were considering a sequel to The Last of Us, and they even admitted to working on it before production stopped for Uncharted 4. Whether new IPs or sequels are on the agenda remains to be seen, but a Last of Us sequel is clearly the hot favourite.
Or are we about to see the re-emergence of Crash Bandicoot? We can only hope.
