Naughty Dog Give Update On Uncharted 4’s Single Player DLC

By :

As you may be aware, Uncharted 4 is getting a single player expansion somewhere down the road.

The bad news is that developer Naughty Dog have updated fans on the situation, confirming “it’ll be a while” before we learn specifics.

Naughty Dog pointed out during a recent developer livestream that production on the solo DLC didn’t actually start till Uncharted 4 was released back in May.

As an optimist, I’m gonna take this as a good sign. Surely it means that Naughty Dog are committed to delivering a properly immersive and worthwhile experience, and not just some junk to be thrown out with the game as soon as possible.

Just look at the single player DLC for The Last of Us – Left Behind was a standalone adventure that complemented and deepened an already incredible game. Considering Naughty Dog developed that too, I’m sure we can expect something of a similar calibre for Uncharted.

In fact, Naughty Dog has previously said Uncharted 4’s single player DLC was inspired by Left Behind. Does this mean we can expect another prequel type adventure rather than a follow-up to the events of Uncharted 4? Time will tell.

While we might well be in for a bit of a wait, Naughty Dog said we can expect to learn something new “as soon as we’re able to give you more info,”.

In the meantime, Uncharted 4’s oft-forgotten multiplayer mode gets its first big expansion on July 30.

Called Lost Treasures, the (free) pack will include a new map, skins, and a patch that makes a series of tweaks to balance and gameplay.

Naughty Dog also revealed that it’d love to add split-screen multiplayer somewhere down the line. While the developer “can’t promise” such a feature, it has “been on their mind”.
