If you’re not excited about the Xbox, pissed off with the PlayStation or weary of the WiiU, then get ready to meet the Tencent Games Platform (TGP) Box. Now that’s a catchy name.

The TGP was announced at CES Asia and comes from Chinese company Tencent, who helped bring the likes of League of Legends, FIFA Online 3, NBA 2K Online, Monster Hunter Online, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Tournament to the Asian market.

According to AllChinaTech, the TGP will run Windows 10 and be powered by a sixth-generation Intel core processor. It’ll also have the ability to run in “TGP Box mode” which will allow it to download and stream a host of games.

Gaming industry analyst ZhugeEX say:

[i]t’s basically a Windows 10-powered gaming console but with smart features designed to transcend traditional gaming.

While it’s not clear yet if the TGP Box will be heading to the West, Tencent are pretty massive in the Asian gaming market, which is a rich area to tap into since China lifted its ban on games consoles.
