New Game, Alien: Blackout, Rumoured To Be Announced Imminently

Alien fans rejoice, it looks like a new Alien game is going to be announced very shortly.

It’s been a hot minute since the awesome Alien: Isolation scared us all into a blubbering mess as we hid behind our sofas, paralysed in fear that the Xenomorph was coming to our very houses for a taste of human-flesh. And it’s been an even hotter minute since we had to sit through Aliens: Colonial Marines, paralysed in fear that it really was happening, and it really was that bad.

Well, it seems that fans of the Alien universe are in for a treat, as 20th Century Fox have filed a trademark for Alien: Blackout, which covers it for the use of computer game discs and software distribution. Very intriguing Mr. Fox.

While that on its own is fairly innocuous – it could be a tie-in for a new Alien movie or even just Century Fox hedging their bets that they might make that title in the future for example – we also have some more fuel for the new Alien game fire.

The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley tweeted a very mysterious image a while back, which very closely resembles the iconic Alien font, with the words “Worlds Will Change”

Now, Keighley is well known for being a game industry pixie, and has in the past revealed a good few games during The Game Awards ceremony, including the hotly anticipated Hideo Kojima blockbuster Death Stranding.

We won’t have too long to wait to find out exactly what’s going on, with The Game Awards being streamed live around the world on December 6 at 7.30pm CST (sadly that’s 1.30am for us in England)

Cheers then, Geoff. Didn’t want to sleep anyway.
