Activision have dropped the first trailer for their new Ghostbusters game, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it looks… interesting, I guess.
Called simply Ghostbusters, it’s a top down co-op game with a cartoony visual style (I like how they’ve managed to make it look like a Wii U game). At least the box art looks decent…
Rather than playing as the original cast or the reboot’s all female crew, it seems we’ll be taking control of a new gang of recruits, a mix of guys and girls. See, this way they don’t piss off anyone, but please no-one.
Bizarrely, the game is set after the events of the new movie which comes out on July 15 – yet the game comes out a few days before on July 12. Let’s hope there aren’t too many spoilers. As in the films, you’ll be busting ghosts in New York City.
You can check out the trailer below, which features a healthy dose of everyone’s favourite ghoul Slimer – along with a slightly irritating voiceover. I know it’s hard to judge a game from an early trailer, but I can’t help but feel it looks a lot like we’ll almost exclusively be standing still and pointing weapons at ghosts till something happens.
As if that wasn’t enough for you greedy Ghostbusters fans, Activision have also announced a mobile title called Ghostbusters: Slime City, which should also be out in July. No further details on that one yet, but it’ll be launching on iOS and Android devices.
