New Report Suggests The Next Call Of Duty Is Set In Space

Call of Duty is regarded by many gamers these days as a franchise that grows more stale with each passing entry.

It’s fair to say that Activision need to do something spectacular to restore faith in the series. Will a game set in space do it for you?

Now, this is just a rumour, but a report from serial industry source Shinobi suggests that this year’s Call of Duty, developed by Infinity Ward, will be “full on sci-fi” with space combat.

What it definitely won’t be, is a sequel to the same developer’s Call of Duty: Ghosts as most of us expected.

Having said that, choosing not to make a sequel to Ghosts might be a pretty smart move, what with everyone thinking it was a bit shit, and all.

Shinobi previously correctly announced that Black Ops 3 would feature wall-running, characters with robotic limbs and cybernatics, and be developed for Xbox 360 and PS3 – so the guy has a record of being right.

Call of Duty: Space Jam (as I will now be calling it until it gets a name) is expected to launch this November for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and go head to head against EA’s own shooter effort Battlefield 5.

We should be getting our first peek at the game at E3 in June, so let’s just wait and see what happens, and bask in the warm glow of a thousand angry fans.
