No Man’s Sky Has Suffered Another Release Delay

No Man’s Sky has suffered another delay, although PlayStation 4 owners can breathe easy – this delay is a PC exclusive.

The PC version of the massive universe-based survival game has been nudged back from August 9 to August 12. The PS4 version will still be arriving in Europe on August 10, and North America August 9.

There’s no word on what the exact reason behind this delay is, but PC ports can often take a little extra time to polish up – does anyone else remember the hideous performance of Arkham Knight on PC?

The last time developer Hello Games confirmed a delay for No Man’s Sky, things got very ugly indeed. Let’s just hope everyone learned from that last experience and has chilled out a little bit – at least enough not to make death threats, anyway.

Hello Games also recently faced copyright allegations over the formula they used to help build No Man’s Sky’s procedurally generated universe, but it’s very unlikely that this is the reason for the PC delay.

Never has such a hyped game been so slowly and painfully squeezed out of the door before.

August is so close, but I spend every day wondering if I’m gonna wake up to the news that No Man’s Sky has been pushed back to 2099 in order to give it some extra polish.
