Konami have confirmed that PES 2016 will run “just shy” of 1080p on Xbox One and that “nobody will be able to tell the difference”.
This is a major reversal for Konami, who last month were confident that the Xbox One would be able to run the game with the same graphical output as the Playstation 4. Despite these hopes, PES European Product Manager Adam Bhatti confirmed it would run below 1080p on his twitter account.
Hi all, I want to update you on Xbox One resolution. We’re going to be just shy of native 1080p, to keep FPS and game quality high #PES2016

The PES demo currently available on Xbox One runs at 1360 x 1080 compared to the Playstation 4 which runs at 1920 x 1080.
It’s been a difficult few months for Konami. Losing veteran game director Hideo Kojima, cancelling the hugely anticipated Silent Hills, accusations of employee abuse and game delays have all dogged the company. The game developer now has only two titles scheduled for release in 2015 – PES 2016 and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
PES 2016 will release September 15 across all platforms, while it’s main competitor FIFA 16 will release a week later on September 22.
