PlayStation E3 Experience 2016 Showing Live In Cinemas

By :

Most of us probably wish we were sunning it up in LA come E3, mixing with the bigwigs of the videogame industry and getting a front row seat to all those sweet announcements.

Obviously we won’t be, because life is cruel. Good news for PlayStation fans though – instead of crying alone in your room, huddled in front of a livestream in your pants, you’ll be able to watch Sony’s big presentation live in select cinemas.

It’ll almost be like you’re actually there. But you won’t be.

So, the PlayStation E3 Experience is returning Monday, June 13, to over 85 cinemas across the US, Canada and Latin America (a first). Those of us in the UK and elsewhere will sadly have to face the reality of livestreaming it in our pants.

The announcement came through the PlayStation Blog:

In 2014, we had this crazy idea to partner with Fathom Events and broadcast our E3 Press Conference LIVE to some theaters North America, not knowing if this was something people would even be interested in attending. Two years later, and we’ve had to more than double our seating capacity to accommodate everybody!

Attendees will also receive their very own free goodies, including a PlayStation E3 Experience cinema cup and a PlayStation Collectible Card, exclusive to the event.

Fans will be given some digital extras, to be revealed at a later date. Uncharted 4 or GTFO.

As always, tickets to the event will be free, and you can grab them from the PlayStation.com/E3Experience starting Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00am Pacific Time. Obviously it’s first come first served – you can find a list of participating cinemas here.

Sony’s E3 2016 conference kicks off June 13 from 6pm PST. That’s 2am for us peasants in the UK. We’d best get the coffee ready.
