March 2019 is the first month that the free PlayStation Plus monthly games won’t include Vita or PlayStation 3 titles, but Sony has come out swinging with two huge games for PS4.
PS4 owners with a PS Plus subscription will be able to get their hands on Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness.
Modern Warfare Remastered of course is one of the most important shooters of a generation, and The Witness an utterly sublime puzzle game set in a (kind of) open world full of fiendish brain teasers you need to solve in order to unravel the island’s central mystery.
These are two huge titles to have for March, and it’s sure to take the sting out of losing PS3 and Vita titles for many, although it does suck that we’ve presumably lost a couple of cool free indie games a month thanks to Vita’s departure.
Still, Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness are far from shabby. Check out the announcement trailer below.
Last month’s free PS4 games were Ubisoft’s criminally underrated fighter For Honor, and IO’s wonderful sinister assassin sim Hitman: The Complete First Season.
You have until March 5 to get your hands on those, at which point the new batch of games will presumably be available.
