Sundae MothAsk most gamers of a certain age which classic Nintendo 64 franchise they want to see revived, and almost all of them will answer with Pokemon Snap.
I mean, some of them will probably bleat on about Ocarina of Time HD for a few hours. More than a few people would fancy a new Conkers or Banjo Kazooie too, come to think of it… then there are those who’d ask for a new Snowboard Kids.
Okay, so maybe not everyone would immediately ask for a Pokemon Snap revival, but you can bet it’d be in everyone’s top five, at least.
Sundae MothPokemon Snap, for those of you who might not have been old enough to play it at the time and never got around to checking out, is basically an on rails “shooter”. The difference between this game and House of the Dead, however, is that instead of shooting fat zombies with a gun, you’re snapping pictures of happy little Pokemon.
It really is a charming little game, and it’s a crime that we haven’t had a sequel or remaster since the original title released way back in 1999. While we all pray for a Switch version to arrive at some point (which it won’t), we can console ourselves with a delightful looking new indie effort called Pupperazi.
Pupperazi, as the adorable name implies, is a newly announced title from indie studio Sundae Month that will see players scooting about while taking pictures of various puppies. If I could give a big hug to any game this year, it would be Pupperazi.

To be clear, if you’re looking for a game in which you can admire photorealistic dogs with stunningly believable movements, Pupperazi is not the one. If you fancy a game in which you can laugh at cartoon pups with hilarious janky animations, Pupperazi is very much the one.
The game will feature a single player campaign, the plot of which I cannot wait to discover for myself, as well as the ability to share your best snaps on social media, and run around taking pictures with a friend in local multiplayer.
The game’s brilliant official description gives us some clues as to what we can expect:
Snap photos of dogs while maintaining your social media presence. Will you hound celebrities in public, or would you rather be taken seriously as an artist? Perhaps you just want to show your friends the cute dog you saw while you were out. It’s your choice which direction your career goes, don’t screw up!Dodge between people and obstacles as you try to capture canine beauty on everlasting digital photos. Double jump across buildings to get that lucrative shot of a local dog celebrity just trying to live their life. Slow motion zooming helps capture mid-air moments that actually make you feel something.
Sundae MothPupperazi doesn’t have a solid release date beyond “2019” just yet, but hopefully it won’t be long before I’m clogging my Twitter feed with rubbish pictures of cartoon dogs in hats.
