Quantum Break Coming To PC – But Not Through Steam

By :

It’s been a real roller-coaster for any Quantum Break fans out there. First, it transpired that the formerly Xbox One exclusive would be coming to PC. Now it transpires that while it’s coming to PC, you won’t be able to get it through Steam.

Naturally, Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg has jumped in to explain these decisions and is trying to calm everyone down.

Greenberg was quick to stress that Quantum Break coming to PC isn’t indicative of Microsoft abandoning consoles. He claimed that bringing it to PC was an effort to grow the gaming ecosystem, and that Microsoft will continue to launch Xbox One exclusives.

Of course, Greenberg accepts that fans won’t always agree with Microsoft:

Some times we’re innovating, some times we’re experimenting, sometimes we’re charting new ground on different things. We always want to hear people’s feedback, we’re always listening. While they might not always agree with 100 percent of everything we do, we love the feedback. We want to do different things and try different things and say, ‘Hey, what do you think of this, what do you think of that?’ We do listen. Good and bad.

Finally, Greenberg confirmed that Quantum Break on Windows 10 will be a Windows Store Exclusive (so no Steam version). This isn’t hugely surprising, since prioritising your own store over a competitor is just good business sense.
