Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Calls Out ‘Sadie’ During Sex, Is Swiftly Dumped

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most immersive games of the decade, but the level to which some players are getting drawn into the Western is proving detrimental to their real lives. 

I, for example, can no longer walk into work without greeting my colleagues with an enthusiastic “Howdy Mister!” It was charming at first, but now I’m pretty sure they just think I’m a prick.

It could be much worse however, as one Jereon Bekkers has proven. Posting to Facebook, Bekkers claimed that his girlfriend had decided to part ways with him after he called out “Sadie” during “the sex”.

Sadie of course is a reference to the fantastic Sadie Adler of Red Dead Redemption 2, a no-nonsense widow turned bounty hunter, it’s not hard to see why someone might find themselves attracted to such a character, even if they don’t actually exist.

It’s a lot harder to see why you’d ever think it was a good idea to call out another person’s name in bed – unless such a deal had been tacitly agreed to between all participants, of course. I’m not here to kink shame.

As to why Bekkers called it “the sex” and not just “sex”, well I have no idea. Each to their own, I guess.

If what Bekkers says is true, then I hope he’s looking forward to spending Christmas with the delightful Sadie Adler while his (ex) girlfriend presumably goes back to her parents and digs out her secret Nathan Drake shrine.

2018 has been a pretty wild year for thirsty gamers everywhere. Players have lusted after Sadie and Arthur Morgan of course, but there’s also been a lot of love for Assassin’s Creed’s Kassandra, and even Connor, the android cop from Detroit: Become Human.

If you’re into a video game character, that’s obviously fine – I plan to wed Samus Aran one day, for example – but don’t go shouting out their name in bed, it’ll just bum everybody out.
