The latest rumours for Red Dead Redemption 2 Online suggest that the multiplayer version of the game will be releasing as early as tomorrow.

According to Variety ,via Rockstar, the beta will be staggered for players at first.

On Tuesday 27 November, those who purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game will get first access, anybody who played on launch day will get a go on Wednesday, while people who played between 26 of October will get access Thursday.

The beta will then apparently launch for everybody on Friday 30 November. It’s thought that the staggering of the launch is to mitigate the stresses and strains that saw Grand Theft Auto: Online struggle with the sheer number of players at launch.

This news tallies up with Take-Two head Strauss Zelnik stating that RDR2 was on track to launch towards the end of November. Since then, there’s been relative silence, but this rumour shows that they’re trying to stick to their guns.

So what is it you actually do in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online then? Well according to Rockstar, it goes a little something like this:

Red Dead Redemption 2 at its foundation, transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns, and habitats of into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players.

Create and customize your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style, and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.

Rockstar

Explore this huge world solo or with friends. Form or join a posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole posses in open world challenges and much more.

Very exciting news indeed then! And even more exciting is the knowledge that the online portion of the game will come as a free update to anybody who owns it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One X.

Now where’s my horse at? Here boah!
