Yes, you read that headline correctly, it would seem that Red Dead Redemption 2 Online might actually be live for some select players right now. Not jealous. Not at all.
Rockstar did announce their plans to have the online portion of the rootin-est tootin-est game ever made ready to go by the end of November, but have since gone characteristically silent, leaving most fans with anxiety, and the thoughts that it’s actually been delayed.
But, it would seem that the wheels are indeed in motion to crack on with it sooner, rather than later. Eagle-eyed cowpokes have noticed that achievements for Red Dead Online used to sit at 0% completion, but have begun changing to 0.01%.
So what does that mean? Well, it could mean a few things, but most likely is that Rockstar are currently beta testing the game. Whether that’s internally or with a select number of testers or media remains to be seen, but what we do know is that people are playing it.
You’ll also notice that the first achievement is called ‘Breakout’ which has lead many to believe the opening mission of RDR2 Online will involve your character excusing themselves from the jailhouse. Interesting if true.
As I mentioned though, Rockstar are yet to say anything official either way, so we should take them at their word that the game will be playable by the end of November as planned until we hear otherwise.
