Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users everywhere have been enjoying the delights of Rockstar’s excellent Red Dead Redemption 2, but PC players are currently being denied the chance to explore the Western wonderland.
That looks like it might be amount to change, however, as footage has appeared online that seems to show the Wild West epic running on a PC.
A video posted by Mrdc kll, which you can watch below, shows someone playing Red Dead Redemption 2 before jumping into the menu to navigate the game’s display settings with a mouse.
A lot of people have been quick to call this footage out as fake, and I’m personally inclined to agree with them – anyone could easily fake navigating a menu with a mouse after all, and we don’t see the character being controlled, which is suspicious to me.
Obviously it’s up to you to decide on the legitimacy of this video, but whether it’s fake or not, it’s not the first time we’ve heard talk of Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to PC.
As spotted by VG247 a few months back, Dutch website MediaMarkt listed Red Dead Redemption 2 for a 2019 release date on PC. Soon after, an official representative for the retailer reached out to Wccftech to explain that the listing was a placeholder, as MediaMarkt believes the game will come to PC eventually.
There’s also the fact that even earlier in the year, a Rockstar employee had a listing on their Linkedin page that revealed they were working on a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 – this was swiftly removed after it was circulated online.
Oh, and of course, GTA V only came to PC after it had already been on Xbox 360 and PS3 for a while, so Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC really looks more like a question of when, and not if.
