Red Dead Redemption 2 Reportedly Happening, Map Leaked Online

It’s looking like the game map for the long awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 (or Red Dead 3) has leaked online.

The map was initially posted on NeoGaf, but later taken down (usually a good sign). Naturally, this is the internet, so screenshots were taken and the map remains for all to see and share. Take a look.

Of course, there have been a ton of rumours regarding Read Dead Redemption 2, so it’s a good thing to go in with a healthy dose of scepticism. However, a source apparently close to development has confirmed to Tech Radar that the map is a “very recent” art direction map for the game.

Tech Radar’s tasty source also confirmed that the game will be set before the events of Redemption, and the new map is just east of the one featured in that game.

If you examine the map closely (go on) you’ll spot the Great Plains area and Blackwater city, which featured in Red Dead Redemption in a big way.

There’s also an interesting link to Mafia III, another game coming from Red Dead publisher Take-Two Interactive. The city of New Bordeaux features in the bottom right of the map, which is where Mafia III will be set – crossover or coincidence?

I’m sure you’ve also noticed the volume of water on the map, which implies there’ll be an emphasis on swimming or boats (or maybe even magic swimming horses, but probably not).

Red Dead Redemption 2 has yet to be officially announced, but at this point an E3 unveiling seems pretty likely.
