Red Dead Rumours Fuelled By Xbox One Discovery

Red Dead Redemption 2 (or Red Dead 3) is still shrouded in mystery, but the original Red Dead Redemption might just be on it’s way to Xbox One through the console’s backwards compatibility program.

Redditors recently discovered that the page for Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox Store has been updated. The new details on the page seem to suggest that the 2010 classic will be playable on the Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox Scorpio.

One would assume that Microsoft updating the page could soon mean a formal announcement that Red Dead Redemption is coming to the Xbox One.

It should also be pointed out that Red Dead Redemption was recently playable again through the Xbox One Preview program, so the signs are encouraging.

Many are speculating that Rockstar’s Western classic could be the next game announced as part of the Games with Gold program for July.

However, the dreamers out there seem to think that Microsoft is gearing up for Rockstar to officially announce that long awaited sequel, and offer Redemption as a pre-order bonus.

All of this follows rumours that Sony actually dropped a Red Dead announcement from its E3 schedule in light of the tragic shooting in Orlando.

Until Rockstar actually comes out and gives us some genuine news on a sequel, I imagine speculation will continue to sweep the internet. After all, I think it’s fair to say that this is the most anticipated videogame sequel in years.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the most demanded games for the Xbox One backwards compatibility program, so perhaps July will finally see those dreams come true.
