Late last year, the Xbox store inadvertently leaked the existence of a demo for the hotly anticipated Resident Evil 2 remake. That demo is now days from going live.

Nestled away on the Microsoft Store, True Achivements first discovered a description for a 30-minute “1-Shot” demo for Resident Evil 2, due out January 11 ahead of the game’s January 25 release.

Here’s the description:

This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly reimagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you’ll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo. Take in the horror atmosphere at your own pace, or make a desperate dash to solve all the puzzles Raccoon Police Department has to offer? The choice is yours!

The timed demo runs at 30 minutes, meaning we only have half an hour to get our undead kicks. The description also suggests that can only play through once, meaning we can die as many times as we can fit into that timeframe, but once the 30 minutes is up, that’s our lot till the full game launches.

There’s still been no official word on the demo, weirdly enough, or any confirmation of a PSN version. Given the original Resident Evil 2 was a PlayStation exclusive, it’d feel kind of wrong for the demo of the remake to be exclusive to Xbox.

Having said that, I have a PS4 and an Xbox so I don’t really care as long as I get to play it.

The Xbox listing notes that the Resident Evil 2 demo will be available until January 31, so we have plenty of time to decide whether or not we want to return to Raccoon City.

I mean, we all definitely do though. Obviously we do.
