What’s scarier than Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Mr. X coming at you with the full, unbridled force of a runaway train?

Answer: An actual runaway train coming at you with the full, unbridled force of Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Mr. X. I know. Terrifying.

Hold on to your crucifix, because that’s exactly what you get in a new mod for the game on PC, that swaps out Mr. X for a Thomas The Tank Engine model and it’s genuinely quite unsettling.

There’s something about seeing an apex predator like Thomas coming at you full tilt in a dimly lit
hallway, while his cheery theme music plays that puts the fear of God in me.

If, for some reason, you want to experience this unholy event for yourself you can download the mod from NexusMods and live out that bizarre fantasy.

Note that the mod only swaps Mr.X with Thomas so you’ll need to switch the sound files
yourself.

What with Resident Evil 2 being available on PC, and therefore mod-able, there’s a litany of hilarious and downright disturbing alterations you can make to the game.
