It looks like Capcom has a cheeky little Christmas surprise for anyone who can’t wait to get their hands on the Resident Evil 2 remake which, let’s be honest, is everyone.
Nestled away on the Microsoft Store, True Achivements has discovered a description for a 30-minute “1-Shot” demo for Resident Evil 2, apparently due out early January, ahead of the game’s January 25 release.
The description suggests that can only play through this demo once, meaning that we can die as much as we like when playing through, but as soon as the 30 minute timer is up, that’s our lot.
Here’s the description:
This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly reimagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you’ll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo. Take in the horror atmosphere at your own pace, or make a desperate dash to solve all the puzzles Raccoon Police Department has to offer? The choice is yours!
The demo activates January 11 is apparently available until the end of the month which gives you plenty of time to play and decide whether or not you fancy picking up the remake for yourself. As of the most hotly anticipated releases of 2019, you owe it yourself to check out the demo at least.
There’s no word on a PSN demo yet, but we’d be very surprised indeed if Sony weren’t getting in on this, especially since the original Resident Evil 2 started life as a PlayStation exclusive.
