The Resident Evil 2 remake is looking absolutely gorgeous, and we’ll all be enjoying that game’s uniquely gory charms in January 2019.

Looking ahead however, it seems Capcom has a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake planned too. That’s according ResetEra moderator Dusk Golem, who announced that the remake is in fact “already in development.”

Dusk Golem recently chimed in on a thread asking if Capcom should follow Resident Evil 2 with Code Veronica or RE 3, announcing that Resident Evil 3: Nemesis development is underway at Capcom.

Golem simply said that he got his information from “in the know” sources, but it is worth noting that he’s successfully predicted previous Capcom announcements, such as revealing the Not a Hero DLC for Resident Evil 7 before that launched.

He wrote:

I’m keeping my lips sealed on anything else so don’t ask, but REmake 3 is in full development right now. I think beyond that they’re waiting to see how REmake 2 and REmake 3 perform, but REmake 2 almost assuredly is going to perform well.

Capcom Senior Producer Jun Takeuchi also recently told Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that the company is working on a “surprising” new project – could it possibly be a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis?

I hate to be greedy – especially since the Resident Evil 2 remake is looks and plays brilliantly – but if we could also use the same engine to relive Jill Valentine being stalked through Raccoon City by a relentless super mutant zombie killing machine, then I am absolutely down for that.
