The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot was met with wide eyes and trembling hands as fans and critics alike basked in the pretty good-ness of the whole thing. Lara was back, and she ready to kick some ass. The one niggling complaint though, was that actual tomb raiding had taken a back seat to the retelling of Lara’s story.

Other Rise of the Tomb Raider footage had people scratching their heads as once again, Tomb Raider wasn’t raiding. But Crystal Dynamics have put those concerns to bed with the newly uploaded footage.

We see Lara in Syria, solving puzzles and jumping around the place like it’s 1996, and thankfully the story that made the first Tomb Raider so appealing is still there in spades. It’s understandable that Crystal Dynamis and Square Enix would concentrate on the story of Lara in Tomb Raider, after all they’ve rebooted the series. But we know her now and we know what drives her. Rise of the Tomb Raider is looking like the franchise we all know and love, and we’ll know more come release day on November 10th.
