Rise of the Tomb Raider is finally making its way to PlayStation 4 in the form of a 20th anniversary edition – though the new box art seems to take inspiration from another PlayStation icon.
The cover for Lara Croft’s latest PS4 outing looks a hell of a lot like the cover for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, as pointed out by none other than Naughty Dog’s own Neil Druckmann on Twitter.
First Melania Trump and now this. ?

10/10 for the hot-off-the-press topical reference there from Druckmann.
Jokes aside, the similarities are too strong to ignore. Either these covers were designed by the same person (which I doubt) or someone at Square Enix is being called into an office as we speak to get a stern talking to on the pitfalls of plagiarising.
The irony of course, is that Uncharted initially took a lot of inspiration from Tomb Raider before the latter franchise then rebooted and took inspiration from Nathan Drake – perhaps the two franchises will lift from one another till the end of time.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration releases for PlayStation 4 on October 11, and comes with all of the game’s DLC, a new chapter, and VR support.
Meanwhile, season pass holders on Xbox One and PC will get all of the new content for free, bar VR support. You can check out a trailer for the PS4 release just below.
Outside of videogames, the rebooted Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia Vikander will be coming out March 16, 2018 – it’s a good time to be fan of raiding tombs.
