The guys at Psyonix must have been smoking some pretty good stuff when they came up with the idea for Rocket League – an explosively absurd demolition derby/ soccer game running on the Unreal 3 Engine.
The micro-machines style game is a sequel to the hit Playstation 3 title Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars and will be free for users of PSPlus. The rocket powered cars will have billions of customisation options (including wearable hats for all you TF2 fans) a replay editor option for posting online and dedicated servers for speedy connection.
Each match will be able to support 4 player split screen, up to 8 players in online play and – get this – will support cross play between Playstation 4 and PC. As an added incentive, purchasing the game on PS4 will include a limited edition Sweet Tooth car from the equally mental Twisted Metal series. Rocket Leauge has already scooped a heap of awards for its efforts including Playstation Universe’s “Best Game Sports Game of E3” and GamingTrend “Best Multiplayer Game of E3”.
With Accolades like that, hopefully it’ll be as lively as it looks. We’ll know for sure after its release on July 7th 2015.
