EA have finally shared more details regarding Outer Rim, the first batch of Star Wars Battlefront paid DLC, and I can already sense a disturbance in the Force (in this instance, a load of incredibly restless fans).
So the expansion pack is coming sometime this month and brings two new heroes: Greedo and Nien Nunb. Your two favourite Star Wars characters, together in the same game at last.
Greedo of course is the chap that Han 100% shot first in A New Hope, while Nein Nunb is a scrotum faced co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon in Return of the Jedi. I only have one question for EA: Where the fuck is Lando Calrissian? Or Chewbacca? I’d even take Luke’s dead aunt and uncle over Nein fucking Nunb.
Still, if you can get over the immense meh factor of that reveal, the Outer Rim DLC offers a few other new additions. There’s a few new Star Cards, and a couple new maps. One is set in Jabba’s throne room on Tatooine, while the other takes place in a smelting factory on Sullust.
There’s also a new mode called Extraction, which EA describe:
Rebel forces have entered some of the most dangerous places in the Outer Rim in order to extract a valuable shipment of resources. Now they must bring the shipment to their transport ship before time runs out. The Empire has arrived to stop them from reaching the extraction point.
Outer Rim, and the three other unreleased expansions, are included with the £39.99 Battlefront DLC pass. There’s no way to buy the expansions separately just yet, but I can’t imagine there’s gonna be a huge rush to grab this one.
