A major new update for Star Wars Battlefront has started rolling out across PS4, Xbox One and PC. Along with the usual tweaks to gameplay and general balance, we’re also getting a new map, a shiny new mission, and more.
The new map is called Twilight on Hoth, and sounds a bit like a romance novel about the forbidden love between a Rebel and his Tauntaun (or maybe that’s just me). Anyway, said map supports Walker Assault, Supremacy, Turning Point, Fighting Squadron, Drop Zone, and Heroes vs. Villains game modes.
The new mission is called Survival in the Ice Caves – guess what you have to do to win? Meanwhile, a cool new film grain setting can be found in the video menu.
Some welcome changes to the gameplay include the pre-round timer being lowered from 30 seconds to 20 seconds, and air vehicles being made a little easier to take down by ground troops. The size of the patch (on PS4 at least) is 4.4GB.
You can find a complete list of changes over at the DICE forums. Battlefront’s first paid expansion, Outer Rim, is coming sometime in March, but we don’t have an exact release date just yet.
