Steven Spielberg Is Still Making A Halo TV Show

You’d be forgiven for forgetting it was even a thing, but Steven Spielberg’s Halo TV show is apparently still in development.

When a fan asked Xbox boss Phil Spencer about the project over Twitter, he responded simply that it is indeed alive.

Back in August 2015, Showtime boss David Nevins confirmed the TV show was in ‘very active development.’ Still, it’s one year later and the most we know is that it’s still ‘alive’.

Obviously that’s not a lot to go on, but it’s comforting to know that the project hasn’t been killed – even if it’s not too far along.

The Halo show – which was first announced back in 2013 – was originally supposed to debut in 2015 alongside Halo 5: Guardians. Obviously, this didn’t happen.

After production house Xbox Entertainment Studios shut down in 2014, many assumed that the project was dead and gone, but Microsoft were quick to confirm that this wouldn’t affect the show.

Still, the show has only been mentioned a handful of times in two years – usually when a fan or journalist pries the info out of someone involved.

If it is being worked on, they’re taking their sweet time with it, that much is certain.

Of course, it could have something to do with the fact that Spielberg is a very busy man, what with 2018’s Ready Player One and 2019’s continued desecration of the Indiana Jones franchise.
