Take-Two Interactive – the parent company of Rockstar Games, 2K and 2K Sports. Have filed a trademark for something called Ghost Story. But what could it be?
The trademark was discovered by GameRant and was actually filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office on October 6. It’s interesting to note that they actually have five trademarks in place for Ghost Story, covering videogames, films and clothing among other things.
Don’t go getting your hopes up for a new IP just yet though, as filing for trademarks and domain names doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve got something up their sleeve. It’s just making sure they have the full legal ownership and rights should they ever choose to.
For my two cents, I think it could be something to do with the possible new Red Dead reveal Rockstar are teasing us with. If a new game gets announced, who’s to say whether or not they’d have an Undead Nightmare style DLC or mode planned for it? Hypothetical of course, but not impossible.
Either way, we’ll probably find out in due course, if and when Take-Two are ready to talk.
