Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Gets Stellar Voice Actors

Marvel has had a spotty history with video games, but when the news broke that Telltale Games were working on a Guardians of the Galaxy adventure, it was hard not to be excited.

The studio who have done wonders with the likes of The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Batman given the keys to Marvel’s most entertaining groups of misfits? Sign me up.

Now, IGN reports that Telltale has confirmed the all-important band of actors who’ll be bringing the Guardians to life, along with a few cool screenshots.

So, whose pipes can we expect to hear when the game releases later this year? Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) will be playing lovable rouge Star Lord, while Emily O’Brien (Shadow of Mordor) is the bad ass Gamora.

The power house without a sense of humor Drax will be played by Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs), while the tree of few words Groot is Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us).

But perhaps most excitingly, the fluffy ball of death Rocket Raccoon is being played by Nathan Drake himself – the excellent (and charming) Nolan North.

Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner said in a statement:

In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.

Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be in five parts, and while part one doesn’t yet have a release date, it’s probably wise to assume it’ll launch around the same time as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 hits cinemas, which is in May.
