Brooklyn Nine-Nine star and all round incredible human being Terry Crews has confirmed he’s fully into the idea of appearing in the gestating Mortal Kombat movie reboot.

After Australian artist BossLogic imagined how Terry Crews would look as Jax in a live-action adaptation of Mortal Kombat in exquisite style, the internet exploded in support.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon himself even jumped in to share the image, while also teasing Jax as a playable character in the upcoming MK11.

Boon’s tweet prompted a swift reply from Crews, who enthusiastically exclaimed that he’d “love” to take on the role of Jax. I mean, he would be perfect for it.

If I’m being honest, we should probably have Terry Crews himself as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11 and every other game till the end of time. I can’t imagine anyone would ever complain.

Boon and Crews were soon joined by original Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski, who encouraged the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor to do it and “rip off ALL THE ARMS”, while thousands of Twitter users roared in support…or more possibly quietly hit like in support.

Crews has always been an avid gamer. He’ll be appearing in the Xbox One exclusive Crackdown 3, but it’d be awesome to see him get a shot at a role in an actual video game movie.

As for the status of the Mortal Kombat movie reboot? Well… it’s definitely coming at some point. Producer James Wan, who recently directed Aquaman, revealed that it’s taking so long because he wants to get everything just right.

As it stands, it sounds like the script and budget for the movie aren’t in a position Wan is happy with right now. Hopefully he can whip into shape soon, and the recent Terry Crews news can’t have escaped his attention, so he needs to do the right thing by us all and hire him.
