If I’d asked the internet who’d win in a fight between Scooby Doo’s Shaggy and Dragon Ball’s Goku a few months ago, I would have been laughed out of the room.
But we’re in the cold and unpredictable wilds of 2019 now, and apparently anything goes. Shaggy is now an all powerful demigod who people want as a playable character in Mortal Kombat, and not even Goku can stop him.
While we’ll probably never see Shaggy duke it out in Mortal Kombat 11, a new mod throws him into the ring of the recently released manga brawler Jump Force, making him an unofficial addition to the roster alongside the likes of Naruto, Goku, and Yugi.
The mod seems to replace Vegeta (sorry Dragon Ball fans) with the cowardly stoner detective. It even adds in some custom Shaggy voice lines for that extra level of authenticity – though his mouth isn’t animated properly and Vegeta’s original subtitles are still present, which is jarring.
This glorious piece of work comes from modders Beatz and Vaanrose, and is available to download via Jump Force Mods. Just follow the link and the installation instructions are all there for you.
Meanwhile, check the mod out in action below:
I’m sure Shaggy is only the beginning of modders working to add strange and brilliant new characters to Jump Force’s already varied roster. I’m hoping Kermit the Frog pops up next, to be honest.
