In a world where escapism is one our favourite pacifying pillars of distraction, whether that be with alcohol, virtual reality, or social media, what could be better than Sims on your mobile?

EA Games is bringing everyone’s favourite life simulation game onto iOS and Android.

The Sims Mobile has launched in Brazil today and will start rolling out to the rest of the keenly waiting world soon.

The mobile release will be based on The Sims 4 ‘legacy challenge’ where players are tasked with building and maintaining a family across generations.

Sims has released a freeplay version of their game on iOS and Facebook previously but they shut down.

I thought the RPG had gone out of fashion but EA announced that the game’s monthly active user base jumped 33 per cent year-over-year.

Unlike previous mobile versions, this will stick more closely to the best-selling PC experience.

Even better, the game will be FREE and of course include social elements so that your virtual best friends can be your real-life best friends.

…Because real life friendships just aren’t enough anymore, apparently.
