Having been steadily rolled out across the globe, the FIFA 16 demo is now available on all platforms in the UK.

Ahead of the game’s full release, EA Sports have dropped the demo on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 and Xbox One as a free download. The  FIFA 16 demo showcases the grandaddy of football matches – Barcelona vs Real Madrid.

After playing through El Classico at the Bernabeu, the demo opens up a little to demonstrate some of the game’s other features. Here’s what you get to try out:

-Kick-Off: Standard one, this. You’ll be playing four-minute halves with any of these teams: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Man City, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter, River Plate, Milan and Seattle Sounders. The three stadiums on offer here are Borussia-Park, the CenturyLink Field and Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu. You’ll also be able to try out Germany and the USA from the new women’s international teams.

-FUT Ultimate Team Draft: This new feature was showcased in a tour-de-banter video by football’s own Frodo and Sam, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. You’ll be able to build your own dream team and take them into offline matches with six minute halves. Check out the video below.

-New Celebrations: You can now run over to your substitutes for a quick post-goal cuddle, and try out the new ‘timber’, ‘chest thump’ and ‘glamour slide’ celebrations.

-FIFA Trainer: There are six new skill challenges to mess about with as games load, though these can be turned off if you can’t be bothered.

-New gameplay: Reports are coming in that only small tweaks have been made to the gameplay – the overall pace has slowed – even more so when players tire – and thankfully keepers reactions have been improved. Due to the slower pace and more alert goalkeepers, it’s apparently much more difficult to score screamers, with even passing requiring a more measured approach. The women’s teams however, play with much more pace, reflecting the real-life tempo.

FIFA 16 will release in full on 22 September on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
