Microsoft have released a moving new trailer for the upcoming Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, paying homage to the original preview from 2006.
With GoW: Ultimate Edition now just over a week away (launching on August 25) this clever teaser tips its cap to the very first Gears of War trailer. Using Gary Jules’ version of “Mad World”, the video still hits you right in the feels whilst expertly showing off the remastered visuals of one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises.
The first few seconds of the trailer show the old graphics, as we see Marcus Phoenix stooping to look at his reflection before the incredible detail of the remaster kicks in. From there on in it’s guns, gore and gut wrenching heartbreak.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition undoubtedly looks gorgeous and is going to be a marked improvement on the graphics of the original. It will also include access to all previous Gears games through Xbox One’s backwards compatibility, as well as the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta due next Spring.
