The Steam Autumn Sale Has Landed, Here’s What’s Good

By :

Leaves are falling all around us, as Shakin’ Stevens famously didn’t sing. You know what time it is, friends. The Steam Autumn Sale is here, and so is the urge to buy cheap games that I’ll probably never play.

Valve’s popular digital storefront currently boasts an eye-watering 14,025 games on sale, with massive discounts on hits like Grand Theft Auto VCivilization VI, and Age of Empires II HD, which is going for… £2.99?

Well that’s just insane. Excuse me, I’ll be back in five to 20 hours.

Okay, so as we’ve established, the Steam Autumn Sale is absolutely groaning under the weight of some top quality games at discounted prices. I obviously can’t list them all or we’d be here for a long old time, but here are some highlights.

The excellent Metroidvania rogue-like Dead Cells is down 20 percent and is currently £17.59. It really is one the of the best games of 2018, and I can’t recommend it enough if you haven’t checked it out.

Cities Skylines is a fantastic time-sinker, and is available for a mere £5.74, down a whopping 75 percent from its original price. There’s also a big sale on the Fallout franchise, with every game in the series marked down by between 50 to 70 percent.

I’ll obviously never stop telling people they have to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Game Of The Year edition – which comes with two huge DLC expansions – is £13.99. You need to play that game, friends.

Oh, and Age of Empires II HD is going for less than the price of a Tesco meal deal. I may have brought that up already, but it needed repeating.

The Steam Autumn Sale runs until 6 pm (UK time) on November 27, so you have until then to load up on classics and lock yourself away in your room before the family visit for Christmas.
