A full-length movie series, based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher novels, now has some of The Mummy‘s production team attached to it. The Sean Daniel Company (catchy name bro) has announced it will be working with Polish company Platige Films on the new franchise.
Platige already have a pretty decent rep in the gaming world, having worked on cinematic trailers for games like Halo 5: Guardians as well as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
IndependentIn a press release, Platige noted that the film will not directly follow the game’s themes, instead relying more on the novels – particularly the short stories of The Witcher and Lesser Evil from Sapkowski’s The Last Wish collection – for inspiration.
Directing the film will be Tomasz Baginski, who earned an Oscar nomination back in 2002 for animated film, The Cathedral, while Thania St. John (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is attached to write the script.
No actors have been confirmed yet, but I think we’re all just praying to god that Nic Cage doesn’t get the lead role.
