During a recent earnings call with investors, Ubisoft announced rough launch dates for new entries in several established franchises – and one mysterious new AAA IP. What could it be?
Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez described the mysterious title as a “high potential AAA brand” with strong live services. He didn’t elaborate what platforms we’ll see it come to, but it’ll be a brand new Intellectual Property and will be one of five Ubisoft games coming out the fiscal year 2016/17.
Ubisoft’s fiscal year starts April 1 2016 and ends March 31 2017, so you can probably expect to see it sometime towards the latter half of that period. Then again, maybe not – nobody has any idea how far along they are with the game, after all.
In addition to this strange new wonder IP, Ubisoft’s 16/17 fiscal year will see the release of the new South Park RPG, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Watch Dogs 2, and For Honor (another new franchise).
