These Awesome Titles Are Coming Free To PS Plus In August

Users of Playstation Plus will be well aware that Sony have free games available on PS+ all the time, but the August list has some pretty huge names on it.

Playstation hardware owners are going to have something to smile about next month, as the list of games free on PS+ has been announced. There are some heavy hitting titles dug in like a tick, but there are also plenty of indie titles to get stuck into. Here’s a quick look at what’s on offer:

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

The easy to pick up co-op has you bimbling around tombs and crypts as the effervescent Lara Croft. With support for up to four players in the top-down action adventure, the 2010 title is made to be played with friends on your couch. This one is only available on the Playstation 4, so won’t be playable on the PS3 or Vita.

Limbo

Limbo was a runaway success back in 2010, with the indie game exploring some pretty dark subjects. A young boy wakes up in a forest on the edge of hell, and must search for his missing sister in the silhouetted, nightmarish world.

Sound Shapes

Imagine if a platformer were built around music instead of gameplay. Sounds weird, but it actually does work. Sound Shapes is available on Ps3, Ps4 and Vita and features tracks from the likes of Deadmau5, Beck and Jim Guthrie. This one needs to be played to be believed.

Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones

2014’s puzzler/ platformer Stealth Inc. 2 pretty much does what it says on the tin. The cartoony action takes place in a 2D universe where you must stick to the shadows in order to bypass guards and traps. Easy to dip into, Stealth Inc. 2 will probably eat up more of your spare time than you think.

CastleStorm

CastleStorm is a tower defence game with a twist. Aside from defending your base from an onslaught of marauding Vikings, CastleStorm let’s you take full control of any of your units during the battle to take the fight to the enemy. CastleStorm will be available on PS3, PS4 and Vita.

God of War: Ascension

God of War has been a huge success for Sony since it’s release in 2005. Ascension serves as a prequel to the entire series so if you’re a fan, this one is a must play. Focusing on hack and slash gameplay, glossy visuals and gore by the bucket, there are definitely worse ways to spend an afternoon.
