What is it about 8-bit music sounding so fucking awesome when played by a full orchestra? Thankfully, we don’t have to understand it to love it.
Appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert a couple of days ago, the orchestra and a choir crammed into the Ed Sullivan Theatre to play some of the most iconic gaming music live, in support of Nintendo’s upcoming Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes on the 3DS.
The orchestra mixed music from the main Zelda theme as well as pieces of the new Zelda: Tri Force Heroes theme. The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Godesses orchestra are currently on tour in the US and Europe doing badass renditions of series composer Koji Kondo’s original songs.
