If you’ve been keeping up with Horizon Zero Dawn, then you’ll probably have heard by now that the critics think it’s one hell of an open world game.
Everyone (including us) are particularly taken with the scope and scale of the PS4-exclusive’s post, post apocalyptic realm.
With that in mind, PlayStation UK has put together some incredible art showcasing what the biggest cities in the UK would look like if they were overran by nature and robotic dinosaurs, as opposed to gentrification and homelessness.
Cardiff
As you can see, the Millennium Stadium has seen better, less invaded-by-robots days.
Dublin
I’ve visited the lovely O’Connell Street in Dublin street a few times – don’t remember the giant robot bird, but I guess it must be a new feature.
Edinburgh
If Edinburgh Castle really were still standing hundreds and hundreds of years into the future, then whoever designed it didn’t get paid enough.
Liverpool
Liverpool’s Liver Building is looking good – one can only imagine the attacking robots come packaged with a Scouse accent.
Birmingham
Doesn’t look like you’ll be able to do much shopping at the Bull Ring in Birmingham anymore.
Newcastle
This have given me a great idea for a new TV show: A post-apocalyptic take on Geordie Shore – who wouldn’t wanna watch that?
Manchester
The Beetham Building in Manchester has seen better days, but I think there’s something to be said for the post apocalyptic chic.
I suppose we can at least take solace in the fact that if the UK descended into ruin, the results would be absolutely gorgeous… It’d just take a few centuries.
