Twitter is a large and sometimes scary place, but we’re happy to report that the purest, most wholesome, and genuinely informative account on the platform has been found.
Can You Pet The Dog? Is a fresh new account in the world of Twitter that was started early in March this year and is dedicated to one simple (yet noble) mission: looking at every game with a dog in it and telling the world if the game lets you pet that dog.
It crunches the numbers and breaks down the valuable information in an incredibly simple way. Take a look at how it tackles Far Cry: New Dawn, a game in which you can indeed pet the dog.
Magnificently simple. Now examine how the account breaks the awful news that in GOTY The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you cannot pet the dog.
Heartbreaking stuff, but the person or people behind the account struggle on at great risk to their own emotional well-being to bring us this sorry news.
The account has already looked at a number of games, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Mass Effect 2, and Dark Souls, which is perhaps my favourite of their findings so far as they tell us we can’t actually pet the majestic doggo boss Sif.
Oh Sif. How I wish I could have pet you. Instead I was forced to kill you.
If you’re on Twitter, be sure to give this glorious account a follow and let them know how grateful you are for them providing such an invaluable service to the people of the internet.
Hopefully developers will take note and ensure that any game with a dog in it will be fluffable from now on.
