Three outstanding GameCube Resident Evil games are all coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop very soon, Capcom has confirmed.

The prequel Resident Evil 0, remake of Resident Evil, and the sublime Resident Evil 4 will all be making their way to Nintendo’s home console/handheld hybrid on May 21.

There’s no word on any additional content or major changes to the games, but we can probably assume that they’re the HD ports that hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a couple years back.

We don’t have confirmation of pricing yet, but for comparison Resident Evil 4 currently costs £15.99 on PS4 so I’d imagine it’ll be somewhere around the £15-£20 mark.

Pre-orders for the games kick off on February 28, and North America can pick up a physical Origins bundle that contains Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil, though there’s been nothing said about physical editions launching in Europe.

The Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 4 are widely considered to be some of the best games in the series. These titles join Resident Evil Revelations 1 and on Switch, two Resi games that are well worth your time if you haven’t already check them out.

The most recent entry in the franchise was the fantastic remake of Resident Evil 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game has received rave reviews, but it’s unlikely to come to Nintendo Switch any time soon due to the technical limitations of the hardware.

Hopefully if this new batch of Resi titles do well enough on Switch, Capcom might just consider putting in the work to port Resident Evil 2 to the console, or potentially even allow the game on console via the magic of cloud streaming, similar to how Capcom put Resident Evil 7 on Switch in Japan.
