There are some massive shooters jostling for your attention right now, as Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare duke it out for your time and money.
Naturally, such competition could very easily turn ugly – and so it has between Titanfall 2 and the latest Call of Duty, with the former taking to Twitter to fire shots at the latter.
Clearly in a cheeky mood, the official Titanfall Twitter account drew attention to a review for Infinite Warfare that described it as ‘slow and plodding’.
Meanwhile, they took the time to remind the world that their own game’s ‘frantic precision’ had been dubbed ‘electrifying’ – take a look below.
One is “mostly slow & plodding” while the other's “frantic precision is electrifying”– you decide: https://t.co/QkynZOXgpn #MakeTheRightCall pic.twitter.com/aAHWbrZQ2y

The link in the Tweet takes you to the IGN review of Infinite Warfare, while the quote praising Titanfall was also from the same publication.
While a bit of banter between large companies is common – both in and out of the videogame industry – there is a history between Respawn and Infinite Warfare dev Infinity Ward.
In a nutshell, Respawn was founded by Jason West and Vince Zampella, who actually worked at Infinity Ward during the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare era and its two sequels.
However, West and Zampella were later fired by Activision (who publish COD) for ‘breaches of contract and insubordination’ – all of which led them to Respawn, EA, and eventually, Titanfall.
Fortunately, it looks as though it wasn’t Respawn who were directly responsible for these fanboy baiting Tweets.
The developer took to Twitter soon after the official Titanfall page fired their shots, and stressed that Respawn, not the Titanfall page is the ‘official voice’ of the studio.
For the record: @respawn is the official voice of Respawn studio. We have nothing but respect & love for our fellow devs.

So it seems for now that we can all just get along. Still, despite the fact that Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 are both published by EA, I’d like to see them throw a little shade at each other for a bit.
